Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing

The Numerical Analysis and Scientific Computing group has its particular strength in the development of novel, efficient, and accurate numerical methods that are capable of tackling complex problems of practical interest. Our broad long-term goal is to provide good software for the solution of differential equations and optimization problems, one of the main modelling tools in science and engineering. We are currently engaged in the following specific application areas: computational medicine and meteorology, modelling of aircraft turbines, and optimal control of gas and water networks.
