Nowadays we consider that many natural phenomenons are due to influences on strongly varying scales. For precise computing of the corresponding multi-scale models a lot of computational effort has to be done. But it can be minimized by intelligent mesh refinement.

Therefore, I am interested in adaptive mesh refinement - especially by adjoined-based methods. These include gradient techniques as well as average criteria or local residuals.
