Department of Mathematics at Technische Universität Darmstadt

This is one of the large mathematics departments in Germany with more than 20 professors being active in research and teaching, assisted by approximately 75 doctoral candidates and postdocs. Over a thousand students are enrolled here majoring in mathematics.

Our research activities, roughly divided into eight Opens internal link in current windowresearch groups, cover a wide range of mathematical subject matters. Supported by intensive scholarly and scientific rapport with the engineering, natural and social sciences, as well as with the humanities in our university, and by our national and international relations, we maintain an excellent position in our field.

We offer a wide range of courses which permit our students to concentrate on specialisations from a great variety of topics of their choice in our Opens internal link in current windowBachelor and Master programmes as well as our Opens internal link in current windowTeacher Training programme. In addition to our own major programmes, the department provides the basic mathematical training in almost all programmes of the other departments throughout the university.
